Chappy Caitlin has been the Chappy at Amamoor State School for over 5 years. Chappy Caitlyn describes chaplaincy as the heart of the schools. Teachers, Principals, all other staff keep the school moving, they are the brain and all other body parts. They have objectives to meet, curriculum to teach, and marking to do, but as a chaplain, we have none of that. We are simply there to support the students, parents and staff who keep the entire school functioning.

Chappy Caitlyn runs programs to help students grow in resilience, social skills, and also mentoring projects to engage students who are at risk of disengaging from school or society. She is always available to talk to students, staff and parents about any issue, problem, or life event that is taking place in their lives, and  builds relationships that allow the trust to be built to have those conversations. Her role supports students through the good and bad times, celebrating with those who celebrate and struggling with those who are struggling. Chaplains are there to be a part of the school community, and to journey with all those who are a part of it.
